Position Summary:

Supports the Manufacturing and Finance functions of the business that involves Capital Initiatives, Fixed Assets, Spare Parts, Depreciation and Performance analytics.

 

Essential Duties and Requirements include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains detailed fixed asset and depreciation schedules in FAS software
  • Prepares all journal entries for recording the acquisition, transfer and disposal of fixed assets
  • Provide accounting guidance on Capital initiatives and use technical expertise and accounting knowledge to identify and resolve issues
  • Plans, coordinates and reconciles fixed asset physical inventories
  • Compile and analyze financial information for the monthly accounting close process.
  • Obtain a workable understanding of the inventory, maintenance, and accounting systems
  • Actively pursue ways to improve, streamline, or automate existing processes
  • Perform technical research as issues or questions arise
  • Prepares assigned schedules for the annual financial audit
  • Analyze, track and report project expenditures versus approved budgets
  • Assists the organization with the creation of written processes and procedures for identifying, tracking, transferring and disposing of fixed assets
  • Reviews, periodically, fixed assets for possible impairment
  • Informs management of either new or changes in accounting or tax rules that affect the accounting for fixed assets
  • Reconcile and Audit of Maintenance Parts inventory value to General Ledger
  • Travel to other company locations will be required, less than 5%
  • Execute special projects, as deemed necessary
  • Responsible for promoting food safety and employee safety throughout the organization

Qualifications

Successful candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively, possess good organizational skills, utilize technical procedural writing skill, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Production or Operations experience a plus.

Ability to manage data within a complex database required.

Must be able to professionally interact with all levels of the organization.

Computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office and database applications.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required.  A minimum of three years fixed asset experience acquired in a Manufacturing setting.  Experience in the use of FAS and MP2 software a plus.  Proficient in Windows environment:  MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).  

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, verify and confirm all financial data.

 

Mathematical Skills

Excellent Mathematical Skills required.

 

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to understand and compile complex financial and tax information and analyze it for reasonableness.  Candidate must have the ability to use analysis and information to format and create reports for management to use when making decisions.
