Job Description


Position Summary
The Regulatory Specialist is responsible for reviewing and maintaining technical and regulatory information pertaining to all products and ingredients.  This role will act as a liaison between Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, external customers and legal to produce compliant technical documentation within a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.  This individual will understand and apply regulatory concepts through technical information and regulatory references to substantiate claims for new and existing products, supporting customer compliance and research requests.   

Roles and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Enters technical data into Product Vision for formulation, I&N and label generation
  • Preparation and management of technical and other standard regulatory documents for (Technical Data Sheets, Sell Sheets, Website content, etc.) before submission to internal and external customers 
  • Review product artwork and labels for compliance as needed
  • Reviews and maintain ingredient and supplier documentation and ensure documents meet standards for SQF, FDA, FSMA, Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and other certifying bodies
  • Executes product submissions for Kosher, Non-GMO Project Verification, Whole Grains Council and others as needed
  • Communicates with outside suppliers on behalf of regulatory affairs
  • Coordinates support documentation for product claims, regulatory filings and certification submissions
  • Serves as regulatory and quality resource for 3rd party audit preparation
  • Collaborates with R&D, Quality, Operations, Procurement, Marketing and External Suppliers to support the needs across the business
  • Execute special projects to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory statutes
  • Supports customer compliance requests via customer portals
  • Provides technical support to various internal departments while supporting the global regulatory platform

•        Performs other Technical Services related assignments as assigned


Job Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field preferred.



  • 1-3 years’ experience in the area of Regulatory Compliance/Labeling or Food Manufacturing industry.
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years of related experience in Quality Assurance, Product Development, or Technical Services (i.e. regulatory affairs, labeling, product specification, Kosher, etc.) within the Food/Flavor industry
  • Experience related to ingredient documentation, finished product specifications, nutritional facts/supplement facts, product development, and FDA compliance regulations (21 CFR 101, 111, etc.)
  • Familiarity with food law, regulations and product claims

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with ESHA Genesis preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both orally and written
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Able to apply regulatory knowledge to make compliance decisions on products we manufacture
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
